Yesterday made a month that my cousin Darrell Cloutier was last seen alive. Today makes a month he has been officially missing. I am still angry at the way this seems to have been swept under the carpet with the authorities. They refuse to make any comments on charges that may or may not be laid on the woman who was found with his bank and credit cards. Hello!!!! How on earth can you plead not guilty when you are caught red-handed???
What kind of earth do we live on that makes people think it is ok to do harm to another person? What kind of upbringing did those people have that made them think it was ok to do wrong? I mean I am 50 years old and to this day if I walk in someone's house with my shoes on I can hear my mother's voice in my ear saying "Take your shoes off!"
I have prayed constantly for any knowledge, any word on Darrell. I have prayed constantly for my uncle and other cousin and their family that they might find some measure of comfort in their grief right now. If by some chance the person that did something to him or knows who did reads this, please.... Darrell has a very large extended family that loves him... please.... let his family have him back.

Sorry to say the latest we've heard in the bahamas is that the woman is about to be released in the next week or so ;( No body no crime ;(((
ARE YOU SERIOUS????so what is she saying the reason is that she had his bank cards and credit cards on her and she was talking out chunks of cash from Darrell's account?? Please keep me posted and where you got the info from please? We are getting nothing out here :)
Here is what we received 2 weeks ago as an information update....
Patrice Knowles is still in custody on fraud charges. The concerning issue
is that there has been no evidence of foul play. Forensics have been
conducted on his car and apt and no weapons, or blood have been found that
would enable them to charge her with his murder. She is currently in Fox
Hill Prison and has a court date in two weeks. If they cannot come up with any
hard evidence they only have her on a $10,000 fraud charge and she may be
able to get bail. This woman has been in jail before and understands the
system and knows if she stays quiet she may get out in a couple weeks. They
know she is lying based on previous interrogations and will continue to
pressure her.

The interesting thing is the police know she is guilty know the situation however when it comes (or came) to the media they pretend nothing happened.

We are friends of Darrell's from Calgary. We just wanted you to know that you are not alone in your frustrations! We think about Darrell (& his family) on a constant basis. We hope we hear some news soon.
I have to ask you... which side of the family are you from? I find it interesting that I googled his name and this came up. I'm his little step-sister by the way.
We are first cousins.. our dads were brothers before my dad died. My dad was the oldest in the family. Is Claudette your mom? I went to high school with her :)
I worked with Darrell, and we are as frustrated as you. Our thoughts and well wishes go to his family. The last I heard, was that the woman was granted bail on may 8th. She did not have the money, so she remained in jail awaiting trial on charges of fraud. The authorities here are saying nothing. Please keep it alive in the Canadian press, write your government represntatives, write the news media. again, our hearts and thoughts are with you all. I will post anything i am sure of, on this site for as long as i can.
May 19, 2007 -- Regarding the woman to be released on bail, heard from my husband (who also works for PCL)earlier this week that the woman couldn't make bail. I believe it was set at $15,000 so she would have to come up with 10% of that. Fortunately, she could not raise even the 10%, so I understand she is still being held. I listen every day for news of Darrell, whether on the radio, tv, or through the PCL grapevine. There has been no mention on the radio of a search even resuming or continuing on his disappearance.
I pray for the safe return of Darrell to his family and friends. I can't comprehend what sadness and anguish you are all facing. I do not know Darrell, only having met him when he greeted us at the airport two years ago to get us settled on this island, and again at last year's Christmas party. I am hoping that he is somewhere close by, perhaps injured, even though more than a month has gone by. I pray that he knows that people are still looking, still hoping, and still praying for his safe return.
I ask God to give you and your family comfort in this time, but it is hard for me to understand how any comfort can be received in a situation such as this. But I also know that God is listening to every prayer that goes up to Him and He will provide comfort in some form to your family.
I will keep listening for news and keep Darrell and his family in our prayers.
I worked with Darrell at Gienow about 9 years ago. I think about him all the time and keep checking to see if there has been any new developments on this case. It is frustrating for me to not know what is going on, I feel for his family and hope that this comes to an end soon.
Please see The Bahamas Journal today, May 21, 2007. It is appalling to read that the police are still treating Darrell's disappearance as "just a missing person". As well, they are indicating that no crime has been committed. I was shocked when I read this - how can a woman in possession of Darrell's credit and banking cards be viewed as "no crime being committed"????!!! This is such a joke down here - the police should be embarrassed and ashamed at the work (or lack of it) that they are doing to find Darrell.

Another family (the damianos family) is going thru a similar problem here and they are actually going after the police. It's been a year and they still do not know what caused their son's death and apparently they are fed up of the bs.
I am sorry to say we haven't heard a thing down here. Our thoughts are with you all.
Has anyone heard anything? I read in the local paper on tue, 19th june they have experienced a 5% drop in tourist arrivals compared to last year. that translates to @ 20 million dollars u.s. hopefully that will hit them where it hurts, and they will do something about the absolutely pitiful police work, the corruption, and the exploding crime problem here in the Bahamas.
